Activities

The activity department at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke has a staff dedicated to offering a wide variety of activities. These activities are aimed at fulfilling the interests and preferences for the physical, mental and spiritual needs of our residents. Our staff assists all residents to remain as independent as possible for as long as they are able and extends appropriate assistance when needed.

Community involvement is a vital aspect of the activity program with area Churches providing services on a regular basis.

The kindergarten classes from Sower’s Elementary have forged a unique bond with their “grown-up friends” and an ongoing program continues during each school year.

Countless organizations from the surrounding area lend a hand and their talents to enrich our programs. A variety of musical entertainment is offered, from Classical music to spiritual to the “Golden Oldies”.

Seasonal activities and special meals, parties and events keep our residents oriented and current. Outings; from camping and fishing to drives with a mystery destination in mind are planned, weather permitting.
