A Resident's Role in Homecoming Day

August 21, 2017

Something that many people don't realize about the Homecoming Day Benefit is how much the residents help to prepare for the event. Several months in advance, they begin to roll the silverware packs needed for Friday supper and Saturday breakfast. Residents gather to shred pork for the barbecue pork sandwiches and help to make the giant chocolate chip cookies to sell on Saturday morning. Also, on the morning of the benefit, residents gather to bag bread or do some other last-minute task. We greatly appreciate all the help from within the Home, as well as the help we receive from without.
