Last week, I wrote about a need for bus and minivan drivers to volunteer. Today, I thought I should share about some of the outings our residents have the opportunity to participate in--and that volunteer bus and van drivers get to take part in.
Each year, we have different outings, but there are a few that are tradition and done every year or even several times a year.
Some of the residents' favorites include:
-Outings to the Bass Pro Shops in East Peoria
-Outings to Hooked on Fishing, also in East Peoria
-Country Drives to enjoy the scenery (these are scheduled once every two weeks during the spring, summer, and fall)
-Country View outings to different area restaurants
-Outings to Sower's Kindergarten for a program
Residents also enjoy other outings that don't make it into the calendar every year. We are always trying new outings and simply do not have time to do all the amazing things we want to do. Some other fun things that residents enjoy include:
-Outings to the Riverfront museum for a movie and lunch
-Outings to Miller Park Zoo
-Outings to museums
There are always fun things going on here at the nursing home. If you'd like a preview of the October calendar, click here.
