There is charm in simple food. I realized this recently when I was reading a book that described in great detail an elaborate feast featuring ingredients I'd never heard of.
"That doesn't even tempt me," I thought to myself.
Simplicity truly does make the best ingredient.
And does it get much more simple than breakfast for lunch?
This theme has been a Country View favorite during the winter months. Often, we'll set up a table in their dining room and fix waffles hot from the iron and sausages straight from the grill. Top that waffle (and for some people, that sausage too) with some maple syrup, fruit, and maybe a dollop of whipped cream and you have a wonderfully simple and wonderfully delicious meal.
Right now, as I write, the men are enjoying this meal for Men's Luncheon. Following their breakfast food, they have a delicious fruit salad brought in by a volunteer.
Breakfast is one of life's simple pleasures. If you don't have time for it in the morning, make time for it at noon.
