A True Thanksgiving

November 19, 2018

It's hard to believe that it's already Thanksgiving week. Is it just me, or do the weeks speed up throughout autumn and only screech to a crawl in March?

Thanksgiving is the over-looked holiday in our culture. We race from Halloween costumes to Christmas decorations, with only a few moments in between to catch our breaths. And even when we do put forth effort to make Thanksgiving happen, often it's just another feast or smorgasbord to fill our bellies until we pop the buttons on our clothes.

This Thanksgiving, we encourage you to savor the time spent with family and friends, enjoy each moment as though it were your last. Take the time, yes, to prepare a meal for your loved ones, but also to sit around the table and talk. Years later, you will not remember how awesome Aunt Lily's potatoes were or how burned the crust on your pumpkin pie; but you will remember how sweet a time you spent talking, laughing, and sharing memories.
