Tomorrow is the culmination of weeks of preparation (and probably at least a hint of stress).
When I was a child, I waited breathlessly for the day when all the family would gather and spend an evening together, talking, laughing, playing games, and opening presents.
But as I've grown older, I began to enjoy the deeper element of Christmas.
Some people call it the "magic of Christmas." I prefer to use the word awe, because until you can come to that place of awe before the manger, you truly haven't experienced Christmas.
As nice as it all is, Christmas is not about the tree, the lights, the gifts, the family time, or even good old Saint Nick.
Take all those things away, strip Christmas down to the bare bones, and it will still happen. Why? Because it's about the wonder and excitement of a little baby King born in a stable--a King who now reigns eternally.
And because of that, the awe of Christmas will not be extinguished.
Merry Christmas from our Home to yours!
