Who wouldn't want to celebrate October?
Our Oktoberfest is always a hit with the residents. Together, we can munch on grilled brats, sauerkraut, and apple strudel and pretend that we're German. Today for lunch, we can eat like some of our ancestors might have.
Fall just begs for the hearty, earthy German foods.
Since apple strudel is the quintessential German dessert, I thought it would be fun to share this recipe with you. It goes through the whole process, and even gives pointers on making that beautifully thin pastry crust, for those of us who are intimidated by things that take longer to create than to consume.
Hope your October has been and will continue to be a celebration!
